The facility-level quality measure data on the nursing home STAR site are the data publicly reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Nursing Home Compare . The quality measures are derived from the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and are updated quarterly. For more information about the data, please read the Data Details provided on Nursing Home Compare. The publicly reported data, which is available to both registered and unregistered visitors to the STAR site, is rounded to the nearest whole number (for example, 10%). In contrast, registered nursing homes can view more detailed quality measure scores to 1 decimal place precision (for example, 10.3%).

The Interactive Gait and Balance Training Module is based on the fall risk assessment tool developed by M. Tinetti. The Interactive Performance Oriented Mobility Assessment (iPOMA) is based on the fall risk assessment tool developed by M. Tinetti.
